Kristin D. Krantzman

Professor

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

I have been a faculty member in the department of chemistry and biochemistry at the College of Charleston since 1992.  I am originally from California and obtained my A.B. degree from Occidental College and my Ph.D. from UCLA, both located in Los Angeles, California.

My primary teaching duties in the department are the two-sequence general chemistry and physical chemistry courses.  I also supervise undergraduate research students in our 481 and 482 research courses.

My research interests are in the area of theoretical physical chemistry.  Currently, I am using the method of molecular dynamics simulations to study the bombardment of a Si surface with high energy C60 projectiles.  These simulations are related to experiments using Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS).
